  • JAERHEE (ORIDA Health, ORIDA Corporation LTD). Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon understands that your privacy is important to you. We respect and value the privacy of all our clients/patients and will only collect and use data in ways that meet GDPR guidelines

What personal data is collected?

  • As your health provider, we require certain information to help us manage your healthcare. We may collect the following information: name, date of birth, address, email, phone numbers, gender and insurance policy details.
  • This information may be provided by yourself, GPs, other organisations (such as private and NHS hospitals), Insurance providers, other healthcare professional referrals and solicitors/organisations acting on behalf of medicolegal firms.
  • As your health provider, we will hold medical records relevant to your consultation and treatment, including records of treatment received from JAERHEE.
  • Where credit cards are used to make payments, the details are not held on our systems.

What is this personal data used for?

  • We hold your records so that we can provide you with safe care and treatment, We will also use information to check and review quality of the care we provide. This helps us improve our services to you
  • The personal data is used solely for the purpose of providing you safe care and treatment and related healthcare services.
  • In order to provide you with the high quality and efficient healthcare you deserve, your personal details will be used to communicate with yourself, other healthcare professionals, solicitors and organisations including insurance providers, for the purpose of updating information about your care.
  • There will be certain personal data that we will use to ensure that your account and billing is accurate and up to date.
  •  There will be certain data that we will need to use for legal or regulatory obligations.

Who is your data shared with?

  • As an independent clinician, your data is accessed by the Data Controller (Mr Jae Rhee) and Data Processor (Mrs Tricia Jones, PA to Mr Jae Rhee) only.
  • We may, however, share your data. Data sharing is done solely for the purpose of communicating your healthcare and treatment, so as to provide you with a seamless, high quality care that you deserve.
  • We may have to disclose your information to the following parties if necessary: – other health professionals (Specialist Consultants, GPs, Physiotherapist, Nurses, Dentist), Support Hospital Staff involved in your care/treatment (for example Secretaries in other Private Hospitals or NHS hospitals), referring Insurance Providers and instructing Solicitors.
  • We may have to disclose your information to ORIDA Corporation LTD accounts department if payments are to be made over the telephone. Where credit cards are used to make payments, the details are not held on our systems.
  • JAERHEE will not share your information for marketing purposes with any companies.

Where does this data come from?

  • This information may be provided by yourself, GPs, other organisations (such as private and NHS hospitals), Insurance providers, other healthcare professional referrals and solicitors/organisations acting on behalf of medicolegal firms.

How is your data stored?

  • Your data is stored on MIDEXPRO, a secure online system that is GDPR approved and compliant.
  • Data stored remotely on servers is held in accordance with GDPR requirements.
  • All data is held securely, is access controlled, is password protected and backed up regularly.

How will JAERHEE communicate with you?

  • Our primary communications route with you will be through the e-mail you have provided or by the telephone number you have provided. Urgent contact will continue to be by telephone.
  • These communications will include appointments, clinic letters, details of operations, CMA letters (Competition and Markets Authority) which is a legal requirement, invoices, reminder notices and any outstanding payments.
  • All e-mail correspondence are encrypted in compliance with GDPR.
  • Where patients/clients do not use e-mail, postal services will be used. But we will encourage use of e-mail as we are trying to strive towards a paperless practice.
  • In order to provide a comprehensive health package, you may receive telephone calls following your treatment to ensure your healthcare is progressing as you would expect.
  • If you have given us permission, we will send you e-mail communications regarding important news or events that may relate to your healtcare/treatment.

Who has access to your data?

  • The data can only be accessed by the Data Controller (Mr Jae Rhee) and the Data Processor (Mrs Tricia Jones, PA to Mr Jae Rhee) only.

What is the legal basis for collecting this data?

  • We collect personal data that is necessary for the purposes of its legitimate interests as a healthcare provider
  • For some data, such as that relating to financial matters, the basis for its collection and retention is to comply with our legal obligations

How can you check what data we have about you?

  • If you want to see the basic patient data we hold about you, please contact the office on info@jaerhee.com
  • You can contact us with a “Subject Access Request” if you want to ask us to provide you with any other information we hold about you. If you are interested in particular aspects, specifying them will help us to provide you with what you need quickly and efficiently. We are required to provide this to you within one month.
  • There is not normally a fee for this, although we can charge a reasonable fee based on the administrative cost of providing the information if the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or for requests for further copies of the same information.

Does JAERHEE collect any “special” data?

  • The GDPR refers to sensitive personal data as “special categories of personal data”
  •  As your treating clinician, I will hold information relating to your medical treatment. This may include the following:
    Details of your current or former physical/mental health, including information about any healthcare and treatment you have received from other providers and organisation.
    Details of services you have received from me

How can you ask for data to be removed, limited or corrected?

  • You have the right to ask for data to be removed, limited or corrected and in the first instance please contact us on info@jaerhee.com

  • You have the right to complain to the ICO if you think there is a problem with the way we handle your data.

How long do we keep your data for, and why?

  • Data is held for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the relevant purpose set out in this Privacy Notice, and in order to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations.
