Jae Rhee is a highly qualified Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder & Upper Limb Surgeon with extensive experience in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. With a commitment to excellence in patient care, Jae has built a reputable career in addressing complex shoulder and upper limb issues.
Jae Rhee's Qualifications
Qualified from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2003.
Completed his surgical training at the prestigious Middlesex & UCL Hospitals.
Undertook specialist training in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery on the reputable Oswestry/Stoke programme, gaining invaluable experience in Shoulder & Upper Limb Surgery.
Pursued further specialist Shoulder Training under the guidance of Carlos Cobiella at the Shoulder Unit in University College London Hospital, as well as at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth.
Expanded expertise with a second Upper Limb Fellowship at the Hand & Wrist Unit in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London.
Awarded the EFORT fellowship, spending time at the internationally renowned Karolinska Sports Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

Professional Journey
Jae was appointed as Shoulder and Upper Limb Consultant in 2014, providing care for patients in South West London, Kent Surrey and Sussex. Here, he undertakes elective and emergency surgery for all aspects of shoulder, elbow, and hand disorders.
A leading surgeon in the field, Jae enjoys all facets of shoulder surgery, including the treatment of sports-related injuries, arthritis, and fractures to the shoulder, wrist and hand. He has particularly developed specialized expertise in arthroscopic surgery, including novel techniques in rotator cuff injuries, irreparable rotator cuff tears and biological treatment of the upper limb.
Jae firmly believes in a patient centered approach to treatment, ensuring patients receive the most advanced techniques and care.
Teaching and Mentorship
As an honorary lecturer at the Institute of Sports Exercise and Health at University College London, Jae believes in the importance of education and teaching. He is dedicated to training and mentoring medical students and trainee surgeons, sharing his knowledge and experience.
Additionally, Jae serves as a regular faculty member and examiner on regional and national courses, and he participates on the selection panel for national surgical trainee recruitment, helping shape the next generation of surgeons.
